Dallas Hip Hop Documentary “We From Dallas” to debut at 2014 Dallas International Film Festival

Screen-Shot-2014-03-12-at-7.18.39-PM-496x400We at Creative Juice Online are excited as our very own Rikki Rincon was invited for a special one one interview for the upcoming Hip Hop Documentary “We From Dallas”. Please see the news just released from their office.

“It’s been a three year project but I am proud to announce that our film has made the list of movies to be premiered at the Dallas International Film Festival. It’s been a long journey and we still have a ways to go, but we are ready to share out project with you. It’s time our story is told. It was hard trying to fit 30+years of DFW Hip Hop into one film, including all the elements in a short amount of time. We focused on people who were the building blocks of our scene, and championed those that paved the way. Tickets go on sale Friday March 14th, you can get those here. Two film showcases, Tuesday, April 8th and Saturday, April 12, 2014.

” WE FROM DALLAS covers the rise of hip hop culture in Dallas from the early days of KNON radio, to the golden era of Deep Ellum and the rise of the southern rap culture. Including interviews with the heroes and legends that made it all possible—DJ’s, producers, emcees, b-boys, graffiti artists—this documentary leaves no stone unturned. For the first time, all the architects of Dallas hip-hop are brought together in a feature length documentary to speak about their city, the music, the fans and to proudly proclaim: WE FROM DALLAS.”

Rikki Rincon interviews for “We From Dallas” Hip Hop Film Documentary

A team in Dallas, Texas including Joel Salazar, Teddy Cool and others that have spent many years doing research about the real story behind Hip Hop in Dallas and I give them much respect and support for doing it right. They have been doing this by asking industry insiders from all spectrums of the history in Dallas, not just one sided but well balanced. I, my brother and others have been doing this for more than 30+ years and have very deep rooted history in the music scene that goes way beyond what most know. I give mad respect to those that came before me and those I have learned from and worked with, from USHY, my brother Stevie Rincon (aka Stevie D), Joe Lopez, Snake, Big Al (RIP), Shawn “Casanova Roc” and way too many others. Not a day or night goes by that I forget my roots, my leadership, for those hold the key to keeping you balanced today. Dallas always has had this movement from Funk, Go Go to Hip Hop and the richness and diversity in this city will be well presented in this Film Documentary “We From Dallas”. Google it and see the love already coming from Dallas Morning News, Dallas Observer and others.  Also, click here to see trailer. This is just a preview of what’s to come. Peace and as I said in the interview “I am Hip Hop”.
